3D TICKET TO THE WORLD

After graduating from CADA Truemax, Mikkel Arildsen has cultivated his passion for VFX with challenging jobs in Copenhagen, London and Munich
CADA Truemax is the only place in Denmark where talented 3D artists can earn a ticket to a global career in VFX and the rapidly growing games industry.
Mikkel Arildsen is a shining example of this.
Almost everyone who completes the recognized and SU-eligible education in Copenhagen gets a job after graduation. Many students make valuable contacts during the program's internships and thus pave the way to their first paid job.
In the Danish gaming industry alone, there are currently 60 vacancies at any given time, and the global growth looks set to continue. Already in 2016, global revenue in the gaming industry alone overtook revenue in film, TV and music. Together.
Mikkel Arildsen is currently working for Trixter in Munich, where he is working with visual effects on a currently secret project, but as he says, “it's going to be great. ”
Mikkel started at CADA Truemax in 2014 and graduated in the fall of 2017
“During my last semester at CADA Truemax, I worked freelance at the VFX studio Ghost in Copenhagen on various VFX projects, and after graduation I went to England to work at the renowned studio Brainstorm in London. I worked there for part of 2017 before traveling to Munich for the first time to work for Trixter. At the beginning of 2018 I returned to London for a job at MPC, Moving Picture Company, and now I'm back in Munich working for Trixter. ”
SAVED THE SAME FOR CADA TRUEMAX
Mikkel is confident that his professional commute between the big leading studios is a typical picture of life as a freelance VFX artist.
“At the beginning of my career, I like to travel for the attractive and challenging jobs that the market now offers, and I'm fine with that,” says Mikkel.
“Truemax was the right fit for me. It was the only place where I could work with 3D and VFX, there is simply no alternative. ”
Mikkel explains that he previously worked selling computers and other electronics at the Elgiganten chain, “it was an OK job and it gave me the opportunity to save up for the training at Truemax, and I have never regretted it. ”
GRAB THE BALLS
“Truemax opened my eyes and gave me an idea of all the opportunities that exist in the industry both at home and abroad. It's very much up to the individual student to find their own niche, the school throws - in the words of one of the teachers - a lot of balls in the air, and then it's up to you to grab the ones you love the most and figure out how to move forward with your specific interest. ”
Mikkel admits that he didn't know anything about 3D and VFX before joining Truemax, “but thanks to a teacher like Lars Bjerresgaard Krogh, who is great at inspiring and encouraging, I got a clear idea of what options were available to me, and that was important. It was really good to open the floodgates at Truemax. ”
“I remember my time at Truemax as a great place with many satisfied students who are all happy to be at the school. And don't forget the personal commitment, it's essential for the full benefit of the school's many offers,” says Mikkel Arildsen.
